This story was one of the earliest things I wrote, which means it’s somewhat dated, back to the days when JAFF writers stuck much closer to Jane Austen’s text and style. I debated whether to even include it in my giveaways because the style is so different from most JAFF today, but I still like it. Especially the chickens. And a very different letter from Mr. Darcy! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
