  1. What a lovely surprise! Just in time for Christmas! *squeeeee*

I am so looking forward to have this lovely paperback in my hand and to read the story – although I admit to being just a bit wary of it being only book 1.
    But I trust you!

Is my memory faulty or we have met already the lynx in the excerpt before? I should like to see how Cerri will warm towards Darcy (I hope the scratches are mostly for the show) and how the big cat will react to Elizabeth!

    Great news, Abigail!

  2. Thank you for this wonderful excerpt and for sprinkling magic and hope into this darkest of dark months, November when the days are short, windy, cold and wet and there’s no snow to bring light. Your books are always an immediate preorder and the date is just perfect as our Independence Day is December 6 so I can spend the whole day reading this!!!

  3. I’m so happy this book is near to release. I remember being intrwhen I read the post of the illusion earlier. I do love stories with an early marriage between ODC so this one is a must. I do love the cover as well. Thank you for sharing.

  4. What do I think? I think I need time to move forward so I can read this now. Oh my goodness, this is going to be so exciting!!!!!!

  5. I’m not a complete fan of fantasy, but I enjoyed this because it primarily deals with the relationship (or lack thereof) of Elizabeth and Darcy which is most important. I will enjoy reading the entire trilogy when completed!

    • There are different schools of thought on writing fantasy. I believe the fantasy elements should be there to illustrate the characters, rather than vice versa. I’m glad you’ll give it a try, even though it’s not your cup of tea!

  6. Cover seems perfect. I ahve been anticipating this story from your earlier excerpts. Really seems to be ready to take us on a ride!

  7. Oh I can’t wait. And just in time for my Jane Austen inspired bedroom with reading nook to be finished. I have missed your writing so much. I’ve read every one of your books, some more than 2 and 3 times, and just love every one of them. This Darcy may have his hands full with Elizabeth, but I’m so excited to see what unfolds.

    • I’ll be honored to be included in your reading nook! And there are more books in the offing – book 2 of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mage, and a regular JAFF novella that’s almost done.

  8. The cover is gorgeous! Is there a release date for the Audible version? I am looking forward to Elizabeth and Darcy’s newest adventure.
